New dancers interested in enrolling in the Ballet Division Program in Ballet 1X and higher must attend a placement class prior to submitting registration for the 2024-2025 School Year.

Dancers who were enrolled at The Rock School during the 2023-2024 School Year are not required to attend an in-class placement. They will receive placement details from the faculty. Any students joining mid-year may be recommended to repeat a level the following school year.

2024-2025 School Year Registration is now open!

The Rock School accepts the following  credit cards as payment: Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. A 2.59% auto surcharge will be added to all credit card payment transactions.  The surcharge assessed for electronic payments is not refundable for any reason, including but not limited to student illness/injury, program cancellation, or school closure. We will continue to accept the following forms of payment with no surcharge assessed:  ACH, cash, and paper checks.  We cannot accept American Express credit card payments at this time.

Ballet 1

Minimum age 7; no placement required. Must select Section A or Section B. All classes within a section are required.
PRICING: 9 installments of $200

Students in Ballet 1 are invited to take additional classes in the alternate section for no extra cost. Contact our School Registrar to confirm available space and attendance requirements at registration@therockschool.org.

Intro to Boys’ Ballet

Minimum age 7; must be enrolled in Ballet 1, Ballet 1X, or Ballet 2 to attend this class.

Students work with a male ballet instructor to prepare for boys’ ballet vocabulary, increase flexibility and strength, and improve coordination. For male students registered in Ballet 1, Ballet 1X, and Ballet 2. This class replaces their second technique class each week.

Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year is now open. The first tuition installment plus the non-refundable $75 registration fee and $185 Spring Showcase fee are required in order for enrollment to be complete. Subsequent payments will be due by the first of each month, beginning October 1st, 2024.  The payment schedule is based upon a 35 week school year.  As such, some months may have fewer classes than others based upon School closures for holidays and breaks. Total tuition is divided into 9 equal installments and is not based on the number of classes
per month.

Class days, times, and instructors are subject to change. Minimum of 6 students needed to run a class.

If you are a returning student you will need to create a NEW Rock School Account in order to register your dancer.

Dress code items are mandatory for all dancers enrolled in The Rock School’s 2024-2025 Ballet Division Program. We recommend ordering your dress code items as soon as possible to ensure they arrive on time. 2024-2025 Performance Opportunities

2024-2025 Ballet Division dancers have the opportunity to participate in the annual Classic Nutcracker performances on Friday, December 6th, Saturday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 8th, 2024.

Classic Nutcracker Fee
$185 (cast t-shirt included)

Please note that dancers enrolled in the Ballet Division are required to audition for Classic Nutcracker. The audition fee is $10. Dancers may be required to purchase additional costume items.

2024-2025 Ballet Division dancers are required to participate in the annual Spring Showcase. Performance dates and additional information is forthcoming.

New Aftercare Program for Grades 2-5

NEW for 2024-2025! Students from Fanny Jackson Coppin and Vare-Washington Elementary School may attend Ballet 1 through our aftercare program. Our staff walks students to The Rock School, where students in Grades 2-5 participate in age-appropriate dance classes, eat a parent-provided snack, and have dedicated time for homework and activities. The aftercare program fee is charged on the first day of the month in addition to Ballet 1 tuition. 

Students must attend both weekdays. Boys take an all-boys ballet class with a male instructor on Thursdays in place of the coed ballet class.
