Classes are held September - June. No experience is required. Our curriculum is designed for year-long study, so students must be of age by August 31st, 2024. All students are required to pay a registration fee and Spring Showcase fee. All Pre-Ballet classes are one class per week. Pre-Ballet 5 and Pre-Ballet 6 students may register for two separate classes for a 50% discount on the second class!

2024-2025 School Year Registration is now open!

The Rock School accepts the following  credit cards as payment: Visa, MasterCard, and Discover. A 2.59% auto surcharge will be added to all credit card payment transactions.  The surcharge assessed for electronic payments is not refundable for any reason, including but not limited to student illness/injury, program cancellation, or school closure. We will continue to accept the following forms of payment with no surcharge assessed:  ACH, cash, and paper checks.  We cannot accept American Express credit card payments at this time.

Intro to Boys’ Ballet

6 years of age
Students work with a male ballet instructor to prepare for boys’ ballet vocabulary, increase flexibility and strength, and improve coordination. FREE for male students registered in Pre-Ballet 6; must be enrolled in one Pre-Ballet 6 class to attend.

Registration for the 2024-2025 School Year is now open. The first tuition installment plus the non-refundable $75 registration fee and $135 Pre-Ballet Spring Showcase fee are required in order for enrollment to be complete. Subsequent payments will be due by the first of each month, beginning October 1st, 2024.  The payment schedule is based upon a 35 week school year.  As such, some months may have fewer classes than others based upon School closures for holidays and breaks. Total tuition is divided into 9 equal installments and is not based on the number of classes per month.

Class days, times, and instructors are subject to change. Minimum of 6 students needed to run a class.

If you are a returning student you will need to create a NEW Rock School Account in order to register your dancer.

2024-2025 Performance Opportunities

2024-2025 Pre-Ballet 5 & 6 dancers have the opportunity to participate in the annual Classic Nutcracker performances on Friday, December 6th, Saturday, December 7th, and Sunday, December 8th, 2024.

Classic Nutcracker Fee
Pre-Ballet 5: $75 (cast t-shirt included)
Pre-Ballet 6: $185 (cast t-shirt included)
Please note that dancers enrolled in Pre-Ballet 5 and Pre-Ballet 6 are required to audition for Classic Nutcracker. The audition fee is $10. Dancers may be required to purchase additional costume items.

2024-2025 Pre-Ballet dancers are required to participate in the annual Spring Showcase. Performance dates and additional information is forthcoming.

New Aftercare Program for Kindergarten and First Grade

NEW for 2024-2025! Students from Fanny Jackson Coppin School and Vare-Washington Elementary School can attend Pre-Ballet 5 or Pre-Ballet 6 through our aftercare program. Our staff walks students to The Rock School, where students participate in an age-appropriate ballet class, eat a parent-provided snack, and have dedicated time for activities and school worksheets. The aftercare program fee is charged on the first of each month in addition to Pre-Ballet tuition.

One day per week; choose based on your child’s academic grade:

Kindergarten (age 5) Tuesday 3:00 PM-5:45 PM Aftercare Fee: $90.00 (9 installments)
